A bit about me - I'm a wife, mom, and the passionate CEO of Covalent Creative. In our home, there is never a dull moment with my husband Evan, our daughter Noah, and our crazy dogs, Benny, Luke, and Maggie (well actually she’s a cat but thinks the most dog like cat ever lol). We live just a stone's throw from Raleigh in Apex, North Carolina and absolutely LOVE it.
My academic journey took me through the fascinating realms of zoology (I’m sure you wouldn’t have guessed it, but I’m a huge animal lover!) and psychology at NC State during undergrad, followed by a double-graduate journey to get my Masters in Biology and Masters in Education. What can I say - I LOVE to learn!
Post-graduation, I dove into the world of clinical research, exploring the intricacies of project management before venturing into the realms of proposals and finance. It was an adventure filled with invaluable lessons, but my creative soul was itching for SO much more.
So, amidst the beautiful chaos of maternity leave with my daughter Noah in late 2022, Covalent Creative was born!

Covalent Creative began as a creative outlet for digital art and innovative gift ideas. However, it quickly evolved when I really plugged into and engaged with my incredible community on Instagram. I discovered that finding the right gift was a pain point for SO many, which led me to transform my Instagram and Pinterest into dynamic platforms that included interactive gift guides.
The enthusiasm from my Instagram community was heartwarming and inspiring. I feel so blessed to have cultivated such a supportive and engaging online space. My posts and stories were brimming with gift suggestions, but I soon realized the need for a more expansive platform. Hence, the Covalent Creative Blog was created to become a comprehensive resource for lifestyle advice, gift inspiration, and so much more.
But the story doesn’t stop there…
After being in the online space for a few months, I saw incredible small business owners around me, passionate and ready to scale, yet held back by the lack of time or know-how. So I made it my mission to create a company that helped close this gap.
I've had the privilege of learning from industry leaders such as Sara Wiles, Natalie Ellis, Julie Solomon, Shannon McKinstrie, Emily Schwalbach (just to name a few) and have invested over $20,000 in my professional development on top of my formal education. This blend of top-tier training and personal experiences has been instrumental in shaping who we are today.

The name draws from a fundamental concept in chemistry: the covalent bond. If you can, think back to your high school or college chemistry classes, a covalent bond is about the sharing of electron pairs between atoms. This act of sharing leads to a stable balance, enabling atoms to attain a complete and stable electronic configuration, akin to a harmonious dance of elements coming together in perfect unity.
